At the core of the Black Mamba's stance is the Art Morrison Max-G chassis, engineered for a low center of gravity and modern suspension geometry. Designed around the drivetrain, wheel, and braking specifications, the frame utilizes mandrel-bent 2x4 steel with integrated passages for the driveshaft and side exhaust, allowing the body to sit exceptionally low while maintaining structural integrity.
The Mustang body itself was channeled over the frame approximately four inches, further lowering the overall profile and contributing to the aggressive stance that defines the car.
An Air Ride Technologies system, supported by a five-gallon tank, controls ride height at all four corners. While the system allows the car to be lowered to an extreme show stance of less than two inches of ground clearance, this position is intended strictly for display. The vehicle is fully drivable at normal ride height settings.
Morrison's tubular control arms and a modified Mustang II rack-and-pinion system provide precise steering response, while Wilwood SL6 calipers with 13-inch vented rotors deliver substantial braking capability. A Ford 9-inch rear end with a Strange Engineering 3.73 posi third member and 35-spline axles completes the drivetrain foundation.
The combination of modern suspension engineering, adjustable air ride control, and carefully planned chassis integration results in a vehicle that not only performs, but presents a striking visual presence at any ride height.
